Trio Cleonice and Friends, a monthly chamber music series in Brookline, is back for a third season! The ebullient Trio Cleonice is joined by violinist Luke Hsu and violist Wenhong Luo for a program playfully titled "Preludes and Fugues." Featuring excerpts from Bach's Well-Tempered Clavier and his monumental Art of Fugue juxtaposed with preludes and fugues by Tchaikovsky, Bartók, Shostakovich, and Ralph Shapey, the concert seeks to explore the music of Bach as both a culmination and a point of departure.


Trio Cleonice & Friends arose from the Trio’s desire to make live, vibrant chamber music – which they find to be a daily necessity – an accessible, integrated part of Brookline’s cultural fabric. Concerts take place in United Parish's cozy Parlor, an intimate and informal setting that attracts both chamber music lovers and first-time concertgoers.
