Anne Azéma, one of the best interpreters of medieval French music and text, and the renowned Boston Camerata perform vocal and instrumental music of personal devotion from the early Renaissance. The program includes prayers, songs, chants, music for the Virgin, meditations on the cross, and astonishing reworkings of the day’s popular melodies as vehicles for sacred texts. Music by Josquin, Agricola, Compère, Senfl, and Clemens non Papa. Presented in collaboration with Boston University, and featuring young professionals from BU’s early music department.
