Ever hear of NPR’s Tiny Desk Concerts? Yeah, we love them too. So we’re pulling a page from the public radio book and launching our own intimate concert line-up. Say hello to the all new Tiny Cash Wrap Concerts, a series of performances by local Boston musicians happening where you least expect them, right at the check-out line, right in Seaport.
Third in the series: a performance by Rachel Sumner at The Current on October 22nd from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm. Attendees enjoy exclusive deals, plus the chance to win a prize pack featuring product from each pop-up shop. And no worries if you can't make the concert: We'll be live-streaming Rachel's performance on Seaport's IG.
Praised by audiences for her powerful, lonesome voice and haunting songs, Rachel Sumner carefully spins melodies that get caught in your head. Whether she’s fronting her new band of lush, low-voiced strings or appearing with only a guitar, you’ll be mesmerized by her elegantly intricate arrangements and captivated by the delivery of each and every word. Rachel is both a Willie Nelson and a Patsy Cline of indie-folk - writing the heartfelt but catchy songs and conveying their emotional complexity with candor and an achingly beautiful yodel. And it is her diverse love of pop, classical, country and everything in between that she draws upon to synthesize into her own unique sound.
Please note that facial coverings are required for all on-site attendees. With limited in-store capacity, entry in to the stores will be on a first come, first serve basis.
