Apollinaire in the Park, Apollinaire Theatre Company's FREE outdoor summer show, returns with Swiss playwright Friedrich Dürrenmatt's The Visit.
In this tragic comedy, billionaire Claire Zachanassian returns to the destitute home town she left in disgrace 45 years ago, bent on exacting retribution on the true love who betrayed her. At first the indignant citizens reject her offer of cash for a corpse. They talk importantly of their town's cultural and humane traditions. But when they start buying new shoes, cognac, cars- and all on credit- there is only one way to meet the bills.
Audience members are encouraged to bring blankets and beach chairs to enjoy dinner along with the harbor views. Chelsea Station restaurant will be on hand selling fine food and drinks!
The Visit will be staged environmentally--the audience moves through the park with the action of the play.
Performances run Wednesdays through Sundays. All shows start at 7:30pm.
Free parking is available on site.
