Boston Women in Media and Entertainment's live interview series, “The Story Behind Her Success," in partnership with Tocci Dental, continues on May 12 with WCVB NewsCenter 5 anchor and BWME member Maria Stephanos. Hosted by award-winning broadcaster Candy O’Terry, the luncheon will take place at the Woodland Golf Club in Auburndale from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Emmy award-winning Arts and Entertainment Critic and BWME board member, Joyce Kulhawik will kick the afternoon off. Tickets include a plated lunch and a post-interview meet and greet; they are $45, $35 for BWME members. Proceeds will benefit BWME Cares, the organization’s professional development fund. A Massachusetts native with over 25 years of journalism experience as an anchor and reporter in New England, Stephanos joined WCVB-TV in February 2016. She’ll sit down with O’Terry to chat about her early days in her hometown of Groveland, her passion for getting to the heart of the story, and the winding road that led her to one of the most coveted anchor desks in the business.
“The Story Behind Her Success shines the spotlight on women in the media and entertainment. It reveals the stories behind their success, including all the bumps along the way. The signature series is the brainchild of O’Terry, former co-host and creator of the award-winning show “Exceptional Women” on Magic 106.7.
Proceeds from the event will benefit BWME Cares, the organizations professional development fund.
BWME was co-founded in 2012 by President Candy O’Terry and Managing Director Dayla Arabella Santurri. The mission of the organization is to connect, educate and inspire its members, who are professionals working in Greater Boston’s media and entertainment industries. BWME produces a host of events each year, including four quarterly installments of their signature live interview series, “The Story Behind Her Success” and “Live and Learn," an on-going career enrichment series.
