In a world where statues fall as often as they rise, The Statue is a play that explores what happens when one shows up... uninvited. No plaque. No artist. No meaning. Just stone— and the chaos it unleashes in a town that can't agree on what it stands for— forcing its residents to confront questions of art, commerce, faith, and identity.
As cultural symbols and public space remain battlegrounds, this play is both a satire and a searing reflection of the moment we're living through.
It's simple, elegant, convenient answer to everything.
The Statue is a brand new original play written, designed, and produced by emerging artists from the greater Boston area. It will be premiering in the Modern Theatre at Suffolk University this coming Friday, September 5th and has a limited 4-show run.
