Join us for a concert on the Quincy House lawn to celebrate the legacy of the American Revolution through music.
In “The Revolutionary Drawing Room,” Arpeggione Ensemble recreates the atmosphere of a world on the edge of revolution, pairing music with writings from America’s past, present, and future. The music of the American Revolution was shaped by a multitude of cultures and peoples, nearly as diverse as American society today. From tavern songs from across the Atlantic to the latest Italian operas to newly penned calls against tyranny, music sparkled with excitement as change seemed just on the horizon. The most vibrant musical setting was often the drawing room, where lovers of music, poetry, and social discourse gathered.
The first floor of Quincy House will be open to explore starting at 4:00 p.m.
Chairs will be provided, or you are welcome to bring blankets for the grass.
Picnics are allowed, but no alcohol is permitted on the property.
