Join Preston Settles Memorial Fund (PSMF) as they’re hosting a PS3 Casino Night on Wednesday, June 11, 2025. The event welcomes hundreds of guests dedicated to raising awareness about sudden cardiac arrest in young athletes and unite the community for a fun-filled, purposeful evening. The themed night will feature casino games, music, dancing, auction items, and delicious food, headlined by chefs Lydia Shire and Douglass Williams.
This event is in support of increasing on-site AED/defibrillator availability at sporting events, beyond the current limited requirements at health clubs and schools. The net proceeds will fund research on hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, provide AEDs to communities in need throughout the Commonwealth, and support opportunities to increase survival rates following out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.
PSMF was founded in memory of Preston Blair Settles, who passed away at just 15 years old due to a sudden cardiac arrest caused by hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) while playing basketball. It was established to provide and fund PReston’s Hope: Accelerating discOvery and Care for people wiTh hypErtrophic CardiomyopaThy (PROTECT), and to otherwise support charitable activities in Preston’s memory.
PSMF is grateful to their legacy sponsor, ZOLL Medical, and The American Heart Association who will provide information on heart diseases and hold CPR training during the event.
