Few sounds are as beautiful to the human ear as a cappella choral music, sung by unaccompanied voices, tuning only to each other. This was the choral sound sought by many Renaissance composers, and it remains the choral sound sought by many composers of the 21st century. Each of these two eras, separated by four hundred years, is distinguished by a flowering of new choral music. This March 23 (postponed from March 2) come hear the Oriana Consort sing these six couplings of related choral works from both eras.
