The Makanda Project continues its summer concert series. This performance will feature several pieces, from the group's large repertoire of Makanda Ken McIntyre compositions, that the group has not played recently. The event will also feature performances by youth performing arts groups, arts and crafts vendors, food, and art making activities. Kurtis Rivers, Henry Cook, Sean Berry, Paavo Carey, Charlie Kohlhase (saxophones); Haneef Nelson, Phil Grenadier (trumpets); Ku-umba Frank Lacy, Alfred Patterson, Bill Lowe (trombones); John Kordalewski (piano); John Lockwood (bass); Warren Smith (drums).
