The Makanda Project's annual summer concert series on the lawn of First Church in Roxbury kicks off this year on Saturday, July 12. There will be two sets of music by Boston's acclaimed 13 piece jazz ensemble, The Makanda Project, poetry by Massachusetts Poet Laureate Regie Gibson, and additional performances by neighborhood youth. All under the shade trees on a summer afternoon.
