Join us for a series of artist-led workshops at Fruitlands as part of The Land Tells Our Stories, a state-wide exhibit of outdoor sculpture.
This workshop will focus on the work of Ella Mahoney and explore the silk painting techniques she uses in her outdoor installations. Moshup’s Hand, Ella’s site-specific work at Rock House reservation, tells the story of Moshup, a towering figure in the oral tradition of the Wampanoag tribe as well as many other neighboring tribal communities, through an immersive blend of natural landforms, colors, and sounds.
Create your own set of botanical textiles that blend and interact with the environment, using cyanotype paint, materials collected from the Fruitlands grounds, and the light of the summer sun! These works can be proudly displayed or used functionally as beautifully decorated handkerchiefs!
This workshop is recommended for those aged 12 and up. Advanced registration is required. Tickets to this workshop include Museum admission for the day.
Cancellation Policy: In the event The Trustees cancels a program due to severe weather, low enrollment, or other circumstances, we will notify registrants by email and issue a full refund or transfer to another scheduled program within two weeks of the cancellation. To cancel a reservation, please contact Fruitlands Museum 7 days prior to the start of the program to receive a full refund. Refunds and transfers will not be granted for cancellations placed fewer than 7 days before the start of the program.
