The Davis Museum presents "The Immortal Magu: A Sixteenth-Century Chinese Painting Up Close" beginning February 6, showcasing a rare Ming dynasty silk scroll painting of the Taoist deity Magu following extensive conservation work. Once hidden due to severe damage, the large-scale work has been meticulously restored by world-renowned conservator Jing Gao using traditional and innovative techniques. The exhibition invites visitors to appreciate this preserved immortal deity associated with longevity and beauty, now saved for future generations.
