The Future History of Wine and Beer, as told by Alex Murray

Alex is a master educator on wine and its intersection with society. His talk on Monday December 4 will feature the spread of civilization through the art of winemaking and beer brewing and conclude with the question of what lies in the future? Have you ever thought of what the introduction of beer and wine was like to an otherwise unsuspecting city, 5000 years ago? Me neither.

Global warming and our changing environment are changing the way grapes of a particular region ripen and mature. How will vineyards fair in the next century? Come and hear the story.

Come early and schmooze with other attendees. Doors open at 6pm, and Alex will start at about 7:00. We'll follow all of that up with a Q&A open discussion. We expect to go 'til about 8:30 pm with this conversation. You may even want to hang out longer and grab a drink at the Cafe ArtScience bar or group-up for a dinner table.

Long Now Boston is hosting this event.
