We are excited to announce the opening reception for the Founders Project! We have been working hard to honor both Boston's Black and Brown youth and legendary ancestors of the African Diaspora. We invite you to join us in the celebration of African art-forms and our connections to the African past with night full of spoken word, food and community. Attendance is FREE.

The Founders Project is a large-scale multimedia installation project headed by Boston-based artist and educator Stephen Hamilton. The project Re-imagines Boston Public School High-School students as the legendary founders of West and West-Central African ethnic groups, specifically those that are part of the ancestral base of the African diaspora. The life-size pieces incorporate painting, weaving, and sculpture art traditions from each of the spotlighted ethnic groups.
