Music escapism is needed now more than ever, and three transportive bands come together in Somerville for an evening of alluring sounds across a darker spectrum as The Chameleons bring their Arctic Moon tour, in support of a new album of the same name, to Crystal Ballroom on Tuesday, April 14. The influential post-punk band is joined by tour mates and shoegaze-soul veterans The Veldt, as well as Boston noir-pop luminaries Lovina Falls, who last year released acclaimed EP Would That It Were, of which The Big Takeover writes: “If only all pop music was this elegant, this eloquent, this infectious, this damn unique. …This is music as art, art as music.” That vibe will be on vibrant display all evening.
