Director: Eran Kolirin, Israel, Fiction, 2007.
The Alexandria Ceremonial Police Orchestra arrives in Israel to perform in Petah Tikva but a mix up at the airport leads them to the remote town of Beit Hatikva. Stuck there until the next morning's bus, the severe, repressed band leader Tawfiq (Sasson Gabay, Shtisel), gets help from an enchanting local woman, Dina (Ronit Elkabetz, Gett) who offers to put them up for the night. Throughout the night, the band and the townspeople develop a fleeting, but sincere, camaraderie through quiet happenings and confessions. Sweet and funny, the film portrays simple kindness and humanity. Ronit Elkabetz, who died 5 years ago this year, shines as Dina.
