Grand Harmonie transports you to the beginning of silent films in France as we paint the sound world of art nouveau. Reaching into the 20th century with an 1870s Streicher piano, trumpet and strings, this concert pairs chamber music with novel and experimental shorts from the era. Culminating with a screening of The Assassination of the Duke of Guise with Saint-Saëns’ original score for the film, this program will immerse you in a total cinematic experience.
