27th Annual Taste of the North End Goes Virtual on September 9th!
While the ongoing pandemic will not allow for community members and businesses to gather at the DCR Steriti Memorial Rink as in years past, the Taste of the North End (TOTNE) will continue this year in a new form!
For the first time, the 2020 live Virtual Chef’s Table will give guests a personal introduction to some of the North End’s highly acclaimed chefs, including Chef José Duarte of Tambo 22 and Taranta, Chef Rob Morotto of Forcella and Libertine and Chef Damien DiPaola of Carmelina’s and Domenic’s, as they walk through the recipes and preparations of some of their favorite dishes. Attendees will then have the opportunity to connect with the chefs for questions following the cooking demonstration.
Since 1993, TOTNE has raised critically needed funds for local organizations, schools, and senior programs servicing the neighborhood, including North End Waterfront Health, the Eliot School, St. John School, North End Against Drugs, North End Athletic Association, and North End Music and Performing Arts Center.
Due to the immense challenges local restaurant partners have faced during the COVID-19 pandemic, a portion of this year’s ticket, raffle and auction proceeds will support local restaurateurs as they safely reopen, covering critical costs including bringing staff back to work, PPE and cleaning supplies.
