Coffee, tea, or... chocolate? Spend the evening at CCAE learning about our long lost tradition of American drinking chocolate, which at one time was as common an adult social practice as the other hot beverages we still enjoy today. As we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States, we'll take a look back at the important role chocolate played in colonial and Revolutionary times, including the forgotten tradition of chocolate houses and chocolate pots – vessels made specifically for serving drinking chocolate. Guests will try some small batch craft chocolate with spice inclusions to get an idea of flavor profiles. You'll learn about the recipes that made this drink different from hot chocolate of today, and get to make your own drinking chocolate mix utilizing natural fat cacao powder and spices inspired by colonial tastes. Instructor: Victoria Kichuk

The cost of tuition includes all food materials and fees.
