Tanabata, or the Star Festival, celebrates the only night of the year when the lovers Orihime and Hikoboshi are able to meet. According to the legend, these two are usually separated by the River of Heaven, or the Milky Way, but are able to reach each other on the seventh day of the seventh month each year.
Join us to learn about the history of Tanabata through story and song, take part in festival activities like writing a wish on tanzaku paper strips, taiko drumming, and more!
Free for Japan Society of Boston members, General Admission is $5. Kids 12 and under are free with attending adult!
