Note - Previous and recent hiking experience in the White Mountains is required.

We'll be hiking the Wildcats and bagging two 4000 footers: D peak and A peak. It's 10 miles over 3684 ft elevation gain. Average hiking duration is 6 h 30 min. This is the route I propose: https://www.alltrails.com/explore/recording/wildcat-ski-slope-to-wildcat-mountain-4a2ddf1

I'm proposing this because of the comments reflecting the steepness from trailhead to Wildcat D, and people have resorted to the green ski slope when coming down.

Be prepared for some rock scrambles (some steep sections !) and gorgeous views. Required gear-

  • Waterproof Hiking Boots with traction
  • At least 2 -3 liters of water/Electrolytes
  • Food, nutrients, snacks
  • Sunscreen / sunglasses
  • Additional warm layers of clothes as the weather can reach 30 oF
  • Headlamps
  • Map of the route
  • Hiking Poles- Optional
