In this session of Navigating Diabetes Through Food and Community, Sue-Ellen Anderson-Haynes, MS, RD, CDCES, LDN, NASM-CPT, will lead an inspiring lecture where she speaks about the importance of taking care of yourself and the art of diabetes self-care.


You will also learn about free nutrition resources from Stop & Shop’s registered dietitian Christine Sinclair, MA, MS, RD, LDN.

Sue-Ellen Anderson-Haynes, MS, RD, CDCES, LDN, NASM-CPT is a mother, wife, co-author, health writer, recipe developer, health speaker, diabetes and fitness expert, and holistic plant-based women’s health registered dietitian. She is currently the National Media Spokesperson for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Nominating Committee Co-Chair for Massachusetts Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Chair-elect for Dietitians in Integrative and Functional Medicine Dietetics Practice Group and an active member of Boston Organization of Nutritionist and Dietitians of Color.



Christine Sinclair, MA, MS, RD, LDN leads health and wellness programs and initiatives for Stop & Shop in the Grove Hall and Boston areas. As a registered dietitian nutritionist, she is an advocate for cultural integration and community nutrition and has a passion for addressing chronic conditions through a food as medicine approach. She enjoys offering cooking demonstrations, developing and delivering nutrition programs and partnering with customers on creating a plan for healthful eating for life all while encouraging them to reach other life goals through a healthy lifestyle lens. She loves entertaining friends, cooking with her family and finding more ways to share laughs and have more gratitude moments.


Navigating Diabetes Through Food and Community: Patrons are invited to join one or many sessions where they will learn from professionals who value scientific research, and the important role community plays when treating diabetes. Sessions will cover a range of topics including community building, healthy cooking demonstrations, Qi Gong movement, and more. According to the CDC, 37.3 million Americans, 11.3% of the population, have diabetes, and 96 million Americans over the age of 18 are living with prediabetes. Whether patrons have been diagnosed with diabetes, prediabetes, or live with someone with these diagnoses, all are welcome. Registration is required for each session.
