The faculty of the Suzuki School of Newton return for their annual recital, with an evening of Ravel, Mendelssohn, Piazzola, and more, including an original composition by cello faculty member Ben Peterson. This concert as in years past serves as a fundraiser for the James Thornblade Memorial Scholarship Fund, which provides need-based financial assistance to families wishing to enroll their children in the comprehensive Suzuki music education program provided by the Suzuki School. For this reason, 100% of ticket sales go directly to music scholarships.
An exciting program featuring both well-known favorites like Vivaldi's The Four Seasons and more diverse selections like Piazzolo's Oblivion, this concert is designed both for its enriching educational potential for young students as well as its wide appeal to fine music lovers in the wider community.
The Faculty Concert takes place one night only at 4:00 pm on February 4, 2018, at the Wilson Chapel on the former Andover Newton Theological School campus, 234 Herrick Road, Newton Centre. For tickets, visit the online ticket portal at ssnfaculty2018.bpt.me or call 617.964.4522.
