January 27th, 2019 - Rea

Rea (Maria White) is a singer-songwriter and music producer from St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. Rea's lyrics have been described as honest and witty, her harmonies smart and natural. Her style is unique, yet shows influences of Norah Jones’ vocal stylings and melodic inspirations, Priscilla Ahn’s lyrical techniques, the melodic inspirations of Corinne Bailey Rae, and the soulful vibe of Emily King. Rea is a skillful vocalist and guitarist who records and produces her own demos of her original songs. Rea is a regular solo performer in the Boston area and is also the leader of a band she recently assembled called “Rea and the Tugboats.”

Rea released her first EP album, Green Popsicle, in 2012, and her second EP album, Favourite Company, in 2014. Both EPs feature Rea’s original compositions and are available on iTunes. With each song, Rea’s pure and versatile voice gently lures the listener to move with the beat and sing along. Rea released a self produced electronic pop EP in 2018. She is currently recording her original music with "The Tugboats", which Rea plans to release in 2019. Rea is attending Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA where she is studying Songwriting and will graduate with a Professional Music Diploma.
