Join us for a morning of forest therapy at the Arnold Arboretum! We will connect deeply with our senses and the nature around us, and find peace as we immerse ourselves in the restorative natural environment. Forest therapy is not a strenuous hike or a naturalist walk; this practice is simply about slowing down and being present without the need to “do” anything. This practice is both personal and communal - we’ll slowly meander, participating in a series of sensory based invitations, and then come together as a group to share. This practice is inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-Yoku, or “forest bathing,” with many research-backed physical and mental benefits.
Devon Oberle (she/her) is a forest therapy guide, certified by the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy (ANFT). Devon's guiding practice is informed by her background as a teacher, working with high schoolers with social-emotional disabilities, by her social justice work, and by her love of the natural world. Devon is passionate about the ways that forest therapy can promote community, belonging, and health for all beings.
Here’s what others have said –
I absolutely loved my Forest Therapy walk! I instantly felt calmer, more connected, and peaceful. I loved the opportunity to slow down, be present in nature, and reflect with others. Devon is a thoughtful, skilled, professional, and intentional leader. She made me feel comfortable and safe to explore and be playful!
Devon created a safe, welcoming space to experience my first forest therapy session. I loved taking the (much needed) time to decompress, contemplate, and connect with my surroundings. I left feeling less anxious, clear headed, and accomplished. I would highly recommend this kind of therapy to others!
This walk is pay what you'd like, in order for this practice to be accessible for everyone. This walk is pay what you're able, in order for this practice to be accessible for everyone. Please pay what's right for you, but below is my suggested pricing:

- $10-$24 (accessible price): for those who have no or very little expendable income and who would be better able to access this practice at a lower price
- $40 (supportive price): for those who are comfortable able to meet their needs and are able to pay more than the standard price to support others.
Note: I will email out more details and a specific meeting point a few days before the walk
