Renowned scholar, author, and educator Dr. Sara Lawrence-Lightfoot will be presenting an informal talk entitled "Stories of Witness and Balm", followed by conversation on five stories based on her book "Balm in Gilead" recounting the extraordinary life of her mother, Dr. Margaret Morgan Lawrence, the first African-American child psychologist.


It is recommended that participants read "Balm in Gilead" in advance, if possible (available on Amazon and in your local library.
