Showcase your stuff at the #statewithoutstigMA talent show on June 16th at 7 pm at C Space: 290 Congress Avenue, Boston, MA.
The stigma associated with drug use keeps people from seeking treatment. Words like “junkie,” “addict” and “druggie” damage self-image and stand in the way of recovery. Addiction is NOT a choice. It’s a chronic disease. The #statewithoutstigMA campaign was launched by the Massachusetts Office of Health and Human Services to help socialize the greater population to the plague on our society that is addiction.
Summer Foley, a junior scholarship student at The Boston Conservatory at Berklee and the current Miss Brookline, recently lost her 28-year old sister to a health complication due to over a decade of opioid use. She knows her sister would have had more of a chance overcoming her issues with opioids if the world was more educated and less judgmental. She’s since learned about and aligned with the #statewithoutstigMA initiative, and is hosting this philanthropic talent show to raise awareness.
IF YOU WISH TO PERFORM: Please email Summer Foley at [email protected] with your name, contact information, talent, and audio visual equipment requirements. There is a $10 dollar entry fee until June 11, and from June 12-15, the fee will be $15 dollars to enter- so sign up now!
