A discussion about the evolution of the Islamic Republic and its reaction to President Trump’s Iran strategy


Speaker:
Narges Bajoghli, author of the recent book Iran Reframed: Anxieties of Power in the Islamic Republic, is assistant professor of Middle East Studies at the School of Advanced International Studies, Johns Hopkins University. She is the director of the documentary The Skin That Burns. Her academic research focuses on the intersections of media, power, and military in Iran. She is a frequent commentator on NPR, PBS, and the BBC. She received her PhD from New York University.


Discussant:
Mahsa Rouhi is a research fellow at the International Institute for Strategic Studies's Non-proliferation and Nuclear Policy program. She is also an associate of the Project on Managing the Atom and International Security Program at Kennedy School’s Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs. Her research primarily focuses on nuclear policy and security strategy in the Middle East, particularly Iran. She received her PhD from King's College, University of Cambridge, UK.
