On this tour, Varya Lyapneva ’26 will explore space, mapping, and dislocation in three works of art that visualize fantasy worlds. They are Nancy Graves’s lithograph Montes Apenninus Region of the Moon (1972), Charles Sheeler’s painting Upper Deck (1929), and Albert Bierstadt’s painting Rocky Mountains, “Lander’s Peak” (1863).
Spotlight Tours offer a chance to explore the collections of the Harvard Art Museums through the eyes of a Harvard student. Free and open to the public, these tours start outside the museum shop on Saturdays and Sundays at 11am and 2pm. Drop in and join the conversation!
