This week, we asked members of our Boston Racing Team to share their favorite workouts for some extra training inspiration that can suit any runner–from a miler to a marathoner.
Izzy Seidel shared one of her favorite speed workouts with us for you to try on your own:
4 x 400 at 5k pace, 60-90" rest between reps
3k tempo at half marathon pace
4 x 400 at faster than 5k pace, 60-90" rest between reps
3' rest between sets
A note from Izzy:
Make sure to run the first set of 400s feeling controlled, and once you back up the pace as you transition to the tempo, it should feel pretty manageable. By staying controlled in those first two sets, you can come back strong and hard for the final set of fast 400s.
