The South Boston Farmers Market operates on Mondays from 11 a.m.-5 p.m., June 2 through October.


Riverdale Farm is back this year, bringing Massachusetts-grown produce to South Boston from their 200-acre Groton farm. The farm’s hothouse operations allow market shoppers to enjoy locally-grown, ripe tomatoes and bell peppers as early as June – much earlier than is typically possible in New England! And Capo Restaurant’s Executive Pastry Chef Marissa Hart will be back with her bread and pastries!


With the presence of the South Boston Farmers Market the South Boston community regains a figurative “town square” and the experience of the many positive outcomes of foot traffic and a healthy, social, active public space, and an improved quality of life in South Boston. The market is a place to not only obtain healthy food but a resource for positive community information. Area nonprofits are invited to table at the market to promote their organization.


The market seeks to serve every demographic group in South Boston. Live music, special seasonal events and incentives to use the market are implemented to enhance the vibrant community atmosphere on West Broadway.


Customers using the SNAP benefit program are welcomed and given a weekly incentive to use their benefits at the market through the Healthy Incentive Program. WIC Fruit and Vegetable Checks, and Senior Coupons are also accepted at the market, and frequent shoppers who collect six stamps on Market Loyalty Cards receive a coupon.


The market is primarily run by one market manager, however we are always looking for more community members to get involved!
