BlackKat Productions Presents:
Soul Sister Revue Featuring: The Dirty Dottys, Sarah Blacker & New England Groove Association, Abbie Barrett & The Last Date
Sarah Blacker & New England Groove Association
With roots in the folk, rock, jam-band and funk scenes, Sarah Blacker and NE Groove Association fuse their vibrant musical worlds together to create an original, soulful sound.
The project, which often features special guests, is comprised of Sarah Blacker & Aaron Z. Katz, both award-winning songwriters and performers whose influences include Peter Gabriel, Joni Mitchell, Steely Dan, Paul Simon, Erykah Badu and Jamiroquai to name a few.
Aaron Katz with over 20 years of national and international touring, is the singer/songwriter/producer/drummer from the successful jam-band, Percy Hill. Percy Hill won the Jammy Award for ‘Album of the Year’ in 2000 and continues sell-out rooms on the jam club and festival scene.
The band recently reunited after an 8-year hiatus, to sold-out shows at Port City Music Hall in Portland, ME and The Paradise, Boston. They are also gearing up for Jam Cruise, 2017.
Sarah Blacker was named ‘Female Performer of the Year’ in the 2013 New England Music Awards, and has built a devoted following both nationally and internationally via extensive touring, passionate singing and songwriting, and belief in the power of music. Her motto, #songssavelives speaks to her work as a Music Therapist, and her coming up on the jam-band concerts and festivals scene. She feels enthusiastic about re-connecting/moving with this fun-loving group of people, now as an accomplished musician and performer.
The Dirty Dottys
https://www.facebook.com/TheDirtyDottys/
The Dirty Dottys is a Boston based pop-motown, rump-shaking, heart-thumping, swoon-inducing band whose goal is to create music that makes their audience, move, groove, and high five their neighbors. Their honest, unpretentious lyrics written soldily in the vernacular provide the perfect environment to set aside your insecurities and be unabashedly yourself. Because, let's be honest, we're all ugly when the lights go out.

Abbie Barrett & Band
Boston Music Award winner for Best Songwriter in 2015 (and Best Songwriter and Female Vocalist nominee in 2016), Abbie Barrett has been featured on CMT’s Cool Album Cuts, Magnet Magazine, Vanyaland, PopMatters, and Performing Songwriter.
Her most recent release, That Shame (recorded at Q Division), embraces all-out rock, coming on strong with heavy, layered guitars, driving bass, and hard-hitting drums. (“Take It In Stride” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iu51GRw4HAk) There’s an irreverent edge to her music, and it seems she’s less concerned with molding a song into some formula than just letting it be what it wants. The results are exciting, unique, and unpredictable—but always something you can sing along to.
Bringing it all together is her band, which features some of Boston’s best musicians, including Mike Oram (guitars), Ed Valauskas (bass), and Rice Edmonston (drums).
