In Andrei Tarkovsky’s legendary intellectual sci-fi film, a psychologist (Banionis) is sent to a space station orbiting a distant planet to try and decipher the fate of a doomed scientific expedition. Once there, he encounters a seeming clone of his dead wife and other unexplainable occurrences.

We are excited to collaborate with the American Repertory Theater on a film series celebrating their latest production, Black Swan.

 

With direction and choreography by Tony Award winner Sonya Tayeh, Black Swan brings the Academy Award-nominated psychological thriller to the stage. Performed with Tayeh’s high-octane, genre-breaking choreography, Black Swan features a contemporary book by Guggenheim Fellow Jen Silverman and a score by Obie Award winner Dave Malloy that blends the melodies of Tchaikovsky with a throbbing electronic soundscape. See it at the Loeb Drama Center May 26 – June 28! And, in the meantime, delve into the mind-bending world of cinematic doubles and doppelgängers with this brief series.
