Addicts, Alcoholics, Al-Anons...this free concert's for you! Join Mike G., singer/songwriter/#1 best selling Hazelden author, and his band for a rockin' evening of 13 songs about the 12 Steps and the inner experience of recovery and early sobriety.
The songs are as varied as the experiences of members of all the 12 Step programs in the world. The songs touch on sobriety, serenity, drug addiction, sex addiction, and even on how a Higher Power views us addicts and alcoholics down on Earth.
Mike G. started in Al-Anon in 1987 and has been sober and active in Alcoholics Anonymous since 1992. He is a nationally famous author and journalist, and writes books about recovery for Hazelden under the pseudonym Michael Graubart. He also uses that name as a singer/songwriter, to adhere to the Tradition of anonymity and to be able to write freely about the inner experience of recovery.
This concert is the world premiere of Mike's 13 "Sober Songs" -- which range from rock to folk to country to smooth jazz and everything in between.
The concert is free but it is suggested to arrive early to get a seat as seating is strictly limited to 90 attendees.
Some of the songs have adult themes and language; the event would not be appropriate for younger children.
