Join us at the last SomerStreets festival of the year, the spooky and fun “Monster Mashed-up” on Sunday, October 20, from 2 to 6 p.m. (rain date Oct 27) on Somerville Ave. between Union Square and Park St. SomerStreets is the City of Somerville’s take on the internationally-renowned Open Streets concept, closing busy city streets to vehicles, and opening them up for cycling, walking, dancing, running, and other modes of activity. Through SomerStreets, the City and its community partners aim to promote and encourage easy access to physical activity, fresh foods, and reconnecting with neighborhoods and businesses and their unique cultural elements in a thriving urban environment.


Activities along Somerville Ave. will include:


Live music on two stages:
Church Street stage (389 Somerville Ave.) featuring:
2 p.m. Beacon for Spirits
3:15 p.m. School of HONK
4 p.m. Squirrel Flower
5 p.m. Sweater Mouth
Mass Ave. Music Stage (487 Somerville Ave) featuring:
4 p.m. The Handymen
5 p.m. We Can’t Work It Out (Beatles tribute)
Costume parade led by School of HONK! Kicking-off at the corner of Park St. at 3 p.m. – wear a costume! Open to all humans and pets!
Doggy costume contest with prizes – hosted by Elliot House
Giant chainsaw pumpkin carving with Artisan's Asylum
Vintage and artisan market curated by the Somerville Flea
Parkour with Parkour Generations Boston
Learn to walk on stilts with Open Air Circus
Mini pumpkin decorating and sports activities with Somerville Recreation
