Slam Theatre is a Great American Variety Show featuring spoken word, short play performances, live music, and dance. This experimental, multidisciplinary art event will feature 10-minute plays by Boston playwrights Monica Jimenez, Faith Verrill, and others; innovative dance performance by artist Flor Delgadillo; and performances by some of Massachusetts' finest spoken word and story slammers, such as Massachusetts’ Poet Laureate Regie Gibson and Boston’s Poet Laureate Emmanuel Oppong-Yeboah--all with live jazz accompaniment by The Blake Newman Group. Themes will touch upon love, friendship, family, what it means to be an American, and more. Join us on the rooftop of the Civic Pavilion at Boston City Hall plaza for a magical night of community and connection!
