Skip the Small Talk at Aeronaut Brewing Company

Do you wish you could have more of the kinds of conversations you have late at night where for some reason, you feel safe talking about the things you actually care about?

Bring your friends (or come by yourself) and spend your Monday night at an event where you know everyone else is there for the same reason.

We'll be offering cards with "big talk" conversational questions on them to get you started. Not feeling like answering a particular question? No worries, we have plenty to choose from, like, "When are you the happiest?" "What's one part of your life that you wish you could give more attention to? What's getting in the way of you giving more attention to it?" and, "If you were going to become close friends with me, what would I need to know about you?" We'll give you some structure and ground rules to make sure everyone feels comfortable and safe sharing as much of themselves as possible. We'll strive to provide a space where you can push your comfort zone in talking openly while still feeling in complete control of how much you divulge. Ashley, a phone volunteer at a suicide hotline, will be available to talk if tough subjects come up.

**Close to the beginning of the event, we will organize a PIZZA DELIVERY from Caesar's Pizza and Subs for anyone who wants to order pizza at the event. They have very generously offered us an awesome group discount, so it'll come down to about $1.50 per slice of cheese and $2.00 per slice of pepperoni! Bring cash accordingly! We are not allowed to be directly involved in the ordering process due to city-wide food regulations, but we will help bring together anyone who is interested in ordering food and have an STST volunteer help out. You are also invited to bring your own lunch or eat beforehand or afterward-- no pressure, everyone will be doing their own thing! You are also welcome to order from anyplace you like on your own. Alcohol will be available for sale onsite!**

Since this is at a brewery, the event is 21+. Aeronaut Brewing Company is wheelchair accessible.

Check-in for this event will begin around 6:30 pm. Please do your best to arrive at or before 7 pm if you haven't been to one of these before so you don't miss the intro, but feel free to come late if you need to-- you'll still be able to participate just fine! If you've come to a Skip the Small Talk before and would rather skip the intro, feel free to come at 7:20 pm.
