Join us for Sizzling Ink: A sm*t-writing workshop & bookshop pop-up as part of Sex Week Boston! Mark your calendars for a two-part day:
PART ONE (Ticket required)
✍️ 11:30 AM-2:30 PM ET | Spicy writing workshop (included food & drink courtesy of co-sponsor Linger Boston)
You’ll learn how to craft s*x scenes for different subgenres — ranging from fantasy to paranormal — and heighten tension to really make your scenes sizzle, all while enjoying scrumptious food and drink (complimentary for workshop registrants!) from Linger. Your instructor will be Megan Hennessey, who teaches workshops and courses at writers’ groups, the Women in Publishing Summit, and the Editorial Freelancers’ Association; and loves romance novels that break the rules and center queer, kinky characters!
This workshop requires a paid ticket, and we’re offering three pricing tiers:
🎟️ A discounted $15.00 ticket for those facing economic challenges (7 available, first come, first served)
🎟️ A $27.00 base ticket that covers the cost of the event space and paying our instructor a fair wage
🎟️ A $37.00 “pay it forward” ticket that helps us offer our discounted tickets
During the workshop, registrants will also be able to enjoy:
📚 Private shopping with Read My Lips Boston’s pop-up romance bookshop
🧁 Treats from Linger Boston
💋 Temporary tattoos with Nicayla Arzola (@nicayla.a.tattoo) of Boston Tattoo Company! Important note: While Nicayla cannot do tattoos onsite as originally planned, workshop registrants will get a special discount of 15% when booking with Nicayla at her Medford studio.
PART TWO (No ticket required — Just walk in!)
📚 2:30 PM-4:00 PM ET | Bookshop pop-up
During this time, we’ll open up the space to the public to browse the romance bookshop pop-up!
