Showcase Cinemas’ Event Cinema is proud to present The Metropolitan Opera’s live showing of Puccini's La Fanciulla del West in select cinemas (now showing at additional Showcase Cinemas). The three act Opera, based on the play “The Girl of the Golden West”, takes place in the mid-1800s in California. Step into the Wild West as runaway bandit Dick Johnson steals the heart of the beautiful saloon owner, Minnie. Johnson’s undercover identity makes him the center of a vicious chase, but Minnie is willing to play a dangerous game with the local Sheriff to protect her lover. Puccini’s music and story line will draw you in and keep you on the edge of your seat, making “La Fanciulla del West” a must-see performance.
