This powerful journey through the scriptural seven last words of Christ on the Cross weaves together uniquely American choral works with music from around the globe—from the raw, expressive sounds of William Billings and the Sacred Harp tradition to the bold, dynamic compositions of Anna Thorvaldsdottir and Jaakko Mäntyjärvi. In 2026, this profound musical meditation comes to life in the stunning acoustics of St. Ignatius Loyola in NYC, marking Skylark’s debut in this magnificent space. Join us for this special revival of a program that established Skylark as one of America’s premier vocal ensembles on the international stage.
