Calling all beer and book lovers: will you join our brewery book club? Every other month, we team up with the Cambridge Public Library to highlight contemporary works from marginalized voices. All over a fresh, craft beer, of course!


This month we’ll read and discuss the novel What Happened to Ruthy Ramirez by Claire Jimenez! What Happened to Ruthy Ramirez is a vivid family portrait, in all its shattered reality, exploring the familial bonds between women and cycles of generational violence, colonialism, race, and silence, replete with snark, resentment, tenderness, and, of course, love.


We’ll gather in person in our Broadway location’s back taproom on Wednesday, September 13th at 7:00 pm for our monthly discussion. Grab a beer, cold brew, or kombucha at the front bar, then come find us in the back. The discussion is casual, and all are welcome – even if you don’t finish the book, we’d still love to have you.

There are print copies of What Happened to Ruthy Ramirez  available at the Cambridge Public Library Main Q&A Desk. E-book and digital audiobooks can also be borrowed through OverDrive or the Libby app. Let us know if you need help accessing the book.
