The McMullen Museum invites children ages five to twelve to explore its current exhibition, "Cao Jun: Hymns to Nature," and explore the basics of Chinese calligraphy and ink painting. Children and chaperones will begin with a tour through the galleries, featuring over sixty works by contemporary Chinese artist Cao Jun, to observe the artist’s use of differing subjects, styles, and techniques. Following the tour, children will practice the basic marks and strokes found in Chinese calligraphy. The workshop will end with a move into basic ink painting, where they will use the skills learned in calligraphy to create their own botanical paintings.

Because seats are limited, the Museum requests that all children are registered ahead of time at https://goo.gl/aX8mxL.
