There Will Be Blood: The Genetics of Blood Production in Health and Disease


Dr. Vijay Sankaran is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School and an Attending Physician in Hematology/Oncology at Boston Children’s Hospital and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. He will be discussing how studies of human variation can teach us more about blood cell production in health and disease. He will share vignettes from his work that illustrate this and also give an overview of future work he and his lab are undertaking to gain further insights into this process.
