Join us for Savor the Square 2021, June Market curated by Black Owned Bos.
This proactive partnership between TACC, Roxbury Main Streets and the City of Boston is the implementation of a key recommendation from the Nubian Square Market Analysis and enriches the Square in four ways: 1) expands an amenity that sparks positive energy and fun; 2) activates a high-visibility public space by increasing the number of residents who visit; and 3) supplies healthy, locally-grown and -produced food to residents; and 4) boosts economic opportunities for Roxbury Main Streets, and micro-businesses.
Savor the Square is a Saturday series on a city-owned lot in Nubian Square which brings together existing brick and mortar businesses and entrepreneurial vendors into one marketplace in the business districts’ core. It complements existing businesses, by introducing new customers that are essential to their survival. Mature open-air markets (e.g. Roslindale) report an exponential increase in foot traffic in the business district and a subsequent increase in spending at local businesses. Savor the Square serves as the key component in the broader overall strategy to brand the Square as The Heart and Soul of Roxbury and as a destination for residents and visitors. It is actively marketed throughout the community and the City through digital and physical media.
