USA Track and Field sanctioned 5 kilometer (3.1 miles) run along the Charles River, based at DCR’s Artesani Park, 1225 Soldier’s Field Road, Brighton for runners, joggers and walkers of all ages. Families and teams welcome. Teams and individuals participating in memory of loved ones lost to suicide are highlighted during the event.


More than 2,500 participants will raise $500,000 for Samaritans, a nonprofit agency dedicated to reducing the risk of suicide, the second leading cause of death for Massachusetts youth and the nation’s tenth leading cause of death for all ages. All proceeds help fund Samaritans’ life saving services, including our 24/7 text & phone Helpline, Community Education and Outreach, and Grief Support Services for those who have lost a loved one to suicide. These vital services are available to families, friends, and neighbors, free of charge. Samaritans answers calls from Greater Boston, MetroWest, our statewide toll-free number, and MA calls to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.
