About This Event

General Assembly is teaming up with AAUW and the Mayor's Office of Women's Advancement to offer free, monthly salary negotiation workshops for the women of Boston.

Join us for a free two-hour salary negotiation workshop and gain the skills and confidence to successfully negotiate your salary and benefits packages in preparation for your next review or career change.

Why it Matters

Women working full time in the United States typically are paid just 80 percent of what white men are paid, a gap of 20 percent — and it’s even worse for women of color.

AAUW Work Smart in Boston is an initiative of AAUW and the Mayor's Office of Women's Advancement to train half the working women of Boston to negotiate their salary and benefits packages over five years.

By signing up for this event, you're giving our sponsors permission to contact you about upcoming events and promotions.

About Our Partners

AAUW
Advancing equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy, and research.

The American Association of University Women (AAUW) is the nation’s leading voice promoting equity and education for women and girls. Since our founding in 1881, AAUW members have examined and taken positions on the fundamental issues of the day — educational, social, economic, and political.

Mayor’s Office of Women’s Advancement
In June 2014, Boston Mayor Martin J. Walsh created the Mayor’s Office of Women’s Advancement to prioritize advocating for equal opportunity for women and girls in the City of Boston. The Mayor’s Office of Women’s Advancement creates specific programming and opportunities that support three priority areas: economic equity, health and safety, and data and research. Some of the office’s most recent work includes: research on paid parental leave and childcare affordability; a multi-pronged approach to closing the gender wage gap; reducing the demand for sex trafficking in the City of Boston; and creating specific programming for women entrepreneurs.
