"The lover's suffering's like no other suffering: love is the astrolabe of God's own mysteries."
- Rumi (from Masnavi, tr. Alan Williams)
What is love? There are perhaps few things in the universe as mysterious as love. To the lover, it can feel like stepping into a portal that takes them to a place beyond time and space. To the beloved, it can feel like bright rays of the sun warming their soul after a cold winter night. In a world that compels us to hide and disguise our authentic selves, love can be the force that disarms and liberates us from our fears and self-doubts.
There is no poet who does a better job at capturing the depth and beauty of love as Rumi. Rumi was a 13th-century Persian poet, Islamic scholar, theologian, and Sufi mystic considered to be one of the greatest spiritual masters and poets in history. His works continue to stand the test of time as they inspire and unite all lovers of poetry even in today's vastly ever-changing world. Join us for an exploration into the poetry and philosophy of this great mystic of love.
