The National Park Service, Massachusetts Department of Conservation & Recreation, and Boston Harbor Now are pleased to present a story walk on Spectacle Island.
The featured book, "Ruby’s Birds", written by Mya Thompson and illustrated by Claudia Dávila, tells the story of Ruby, a plucky young girl who uncovers the wild side of her city neighborhood. When Ruby realizes there are amazing birds right in her neighborhood, her imagination takes flight! https://www.birds.cornell.edu/k12/rubys-birds/
Ruby’s Birds is targeted for ages 3–7, but explorers of all ages are welcome to visit our story walk! Signage also features Spanish translations as well as audio versions in both English & Spanish. Look for the signs on the perimeter trail or ask park staff to direct you.
Park staff will hand out special participation prizes at the Visitor Center
