Typically in the Summer, the RVMS Farmers Market has free children’s activities and live music every week. It’s a true community event where residents, local businesses, and farm-fresh food come together in Adams Park on Saturdays throughout the summer and fall. Every season is full of new vendors, performers, and engaging children’s activities. The market is open from 9:00 am to 1:30 pm every Saturday, rain or shine, from June through November in Adams Park. The first day of the Farmers Market is always the first Saturday of June. In 2020, because of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have reformatted our market into a Grab-and-Go Farmers Market.
Farmers markets remain essential in Massachusetts for healthy produce and food access. It may even be a safer option to shop outside at your local farmers market. Although we are still amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, our market will continue to start in Adams Park on June 6th with new safety guidelines in place.
The Roslindale Village Main Street (RVMS) Farmers Market is committed to serving the community and local farmers and businesses. The RVMS Farmers Market will be open provided that we can operate safely and in the best interest of public health, following the City of Boston’s Farmers Market Guide and the Boston Public Health Commission.
As an essential food access point, Farmers Markets will be an option for shoppers to continue having access to fresh produce in an open setting while maximizing social distancing. The RVMS Farmers Market will continue offering SNAP/HIP for qualified shoppers to access healthy food. Many of our regular farmers will be attending the RVMS Farmers Market during the COVID-19 pandemic. While we cannot promise to have up to the minute vendor attendance information available, when we can, we will post this information on our website, on our social media and in the RVMS newsletter. At this time, all entertainers, children programs, Rozzie Bucks, and wellness activity providers are suspended. We are exploring virtual options and will keep you up to date.
